Jokes, laughter and humorous skits. This light-hearted, good for the soul musical can easily be customized by picking and choosing which songs youโ€™d like your kids to perform. Not a ton of spoken lines, but more can be added with additional jokes! Thereโ€™s even an opportunity to do some OTHER fun song. This musical can be adapted to whatever needs or gifts your students have!

Individual Song Information/Suggestions:

Just for Fun!:  Lively, swing. This one reminds me of โ€œThe Muppet Show.โ€ This light-hearted opener features 2-part independent line (or solos) with optional harmony opportunities. Choreography ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=YFzpadBF0mA

Tell Me a Joke: 2 part harmony. Can teach the concept of OCTAVE. Use the jokes provided, or have kids do their own!

The Jokesterโ€™s Chaser: Start as close to the last beat as possible following โ€œTell Me a Jokeโ€…timing is key! NO SINGING, this is truly accompaniment for a funny bit of comedic bowing, exiting, re-entering, etc. to follow โ€œTell Me a Joke.โ€

Oh, How I Love the Opera: Unison/2-part Harmony. Very proper sounding until the singers begin clucking like chickens!

A Wild & Whacky Western Tune: A song to incorporate Boomwhackers in! This song would be fine with Boomwhackers or NOT. Great โ€œWHIPโ€ sound in the accompaniment track!

Dancing All Day:  Latin feel including clapping! Choreography idea video: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dancing+all+day+plank+road+publishing  3 min.

The Wheels on the Car:   Iโ€™d personally OMIT this. TOO Juvenile for the age-group Iโ€™ve suggested it for!

Save a Piece of Pizza For Me: 6/8 song about PIZZA! What kid or adult DOESNโ€™T like it! Option: begin with one person with a box of โ€œpizzaโ€ in the center. Have students come down occasionally and โ€œtakeโ€ a slice!

Tongue-Twister: Driving rock. Similar to โ€œTell me a Joke,โ€ use the tongue twisters provided, or have kids create their own!

Lol!: Tune sort of resembles โ€œYMCAโ€ by the village people…but NOT quite! The chorus with the โ€œL. O. Lโ€ will be stuck in your head for sure!

Reprise/Bow Music Lol!: Do it againโ€ฆ.but not all of it!

If youโ€™ve directed this musical, PLEASE feel free to share any thoughts and adaptations you did. Weโ€™d all love to hear how you made it your own!
