Jokes, laughter and humorous skits. This light-hearted, good for the soul musical can easily be customized by picking and choosing which songs you’d like your kids to perform. Not a ton of spoken lines, but more can be added with additional jokes! There’s even an opportunity to do some OTHER fun song. This musical can be adapted to whatever needs or gifts your students have!

Individual Song Information/Suggestions:

Just for Fun!:  Lively, swing. This one reminds me of “The Muppet Show.” This light-hearted opener features 2-part independent line (or solos) with optional harmony opportunities. Choreography ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=YFzpadBF0mA

Tell Me a Joke: 2 part harmony. Can teach the concept of OCTAVE. Use the jokes provided, or have kids do their own!

The Jokester’s Chaser: Start as close to the last beat as possible following “Tell Me a Joke”…timing is key! NO SINGING, this is truly accompaniment for a funny bit of comedic bowing, exiting, re-entering, etc. to follow “Tell Me a Joke.”

Oh, How I Love the Opera: Unison/2-part Harmony. Very proper sounding until the singers begin clucking like chickens!

A Wild & Whacky Western Tune: A song to incorporate Boomwhackers in! This song would be fine with Boomwhackers or NOT. Great “WHIP” sound in the accompaniment track!

Dancing All Day:  Latin feel including clapping! Choreography idea video: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dancing+all+day+plank+road+publishing  3 min.

The Wheels on the Car:   I’d personally OMIT this. TOO Juvenile for the age-group I’ve suggested it for!

Save a Piece of Pizza For Me: 6/8 song about PIZZA! What kid or adult DOESN’T like it! Option: begin with one person with a box of “pizza” in the center. Have students come down occasionally and “take” a slice!

Tongue-Twister: Driving rock. Similar to “Tell me a Joke,” use the tongue twisters provided, or have kids create their own!

Lol!: Tune sort of resembles “YMCA” by the village people…but NOT quite! The chorus with the “L. O. L” will be stuck in your head for sure!

Reprise/Bow Music Lol!: Do it again….but not all of it!

If you’ve directed this musical, PLEASE feel free to share any thoughts and adaptations you did. We’d all love to hear how you made it your own!
